Earlier this year, Adam Lyons and his wife Kate Lyons announced the restaurant would not be closing. However, on the week of the 14th, Source closed its doors and was put up for sale as the couple was unable to have a “healthy family life,” and maintain the restaurant at the same time.

Source provided tofu, chickpea omelettes, salads, and vegan burgers as their specialty was vegan delicacies, with the evening menu containing vegetable gyoza and vegan Kashmiri curry.
Source was built from no money, only a dream to start a locally sourced restaurant that welcomed everyone. Throughout its stay in York, the couple served A-list celebrities, and saw first dates result in weddings and children.

The restaurant became a part of many people’s lives whilst Source was able to see people’s lives grow and develop, something which they had to close for to be able to do themselves. The couple made their vegan food with care and love, similar to how they treat the customers.
Adam and Kate thanked all their past customers for the support with a deep heart, stating they were, “amazing and wonderful people.” The announcement was made through the Facebook page.
